Knitting is Timeless

I had something happen to me today I just had to blog right away. My mom finally showed me some of the things my grandma knitted that she has - she died when I was young. I had already seen things like sweaters for my dolls she made and things but these really impressed me. I guess I shouldn't talk like these were knitted decades ago when they might not be that only, maybe only from the eighties, but this is where it gets weird. I've been searching EVERYWHERE for a perfect beret pattern, something with a shape but not cables. I'm only comfortable crocheting without a pattern so I just haven't started any hoping i'd find the right one at some point soon. Well, what do you know.. my grandma already knitted what I consider the perfect beret. I thought that it would be more like a classic french beret but it fits perfect in the slouchy style. okay, i'm seriously knitting nerding out, but I'm sure some of you out there can understand! here's a bad quality picture of the beret, I plan on posting a whole post showing off her other knits at another time. (when i can find my camera cord in my mess hehe)

So It's Been a While..

Well, I still love the idea of blogging but I simply don't have time while in classes. I have so many different art assignments at schools that the last thing I want to do for fun is craft. Instead I think of what I should do with my etsy shop. I don't want to give up but I feel like I haven't been giving it my all. I've been crocheting, knitting, making jewelry,and sewing things all the time for it and only making the occasional greeting card. Lets be real. I'm going to school for Illustration. What am I doing?

So, after this very delayed realization I've started making some Pre-Made Banners for other etsy users to use. It's been good practice for my digital skills and I think they're pretty cute :)




Anywayyyys other than making more of those I thinking of possibly selling prints of my illustrations or maybe make prints of greeting cards. I've also thought about recycling paper myself and creating journals after having a book binding class last semester. Enought talking about the struggles of etsy, Here is my recent work from school and why I haven't had time to write.
