This year I get to have my own bedroom at school and I wanted everything to match! The dresser I got last minute last year was pretty horrible. My mom got it from wal mart and when I think about it, it was probalby in the office section. I started painting it weeks ago but had so many different plan changes due to the cheap fake wood stuff on the outside I was going to tape parts to leave the wood with black but then the fake wood stuff came off with the tape.. so I ended up kind of hand painting this stripes on with gold. The black is some semi gloss spray paint so it's nice and shiny :) After all is said and done I'm happy with it. It had those really plain black plastic handles on it before so I got new gold ones

Here's a close up of the "character" the lines have

Next was a few lamps I had from target from way back. They were like a bright lavender before. They were really hard to get pictures of lol
here's the bottom (and my shadow)

and the top (with a shadow from a tree)

and the matching desk lamp, you cant see the design very well in the pictures but it's the same as the lamp

Just a few more weeks till i can decorate the rest of the room!

great work! it's always fun to make old crappy stuff look new! did you handpaint all of that damask pattern? that must have taken forever!
I was going to ask how you did the damask pattern as well. Nicely done! Hope the bureau holds together after all that!
thanks you guys! It was very quick and easy, I got a self adhesive stencil and did it really quick so it would be a bit messy. I used acrylic paint and sealed it.
